Alliance vs Alliance: A Guild Strategy Guide

Marvel Puzzle Quest's Alliance vs Alliance (AvA) turns individual battles into an alliance-wide contest for territory. The strongest roster alone won't win it: coordination, participation, and smart use of limited attacks matter.

Official rules: 505 Go AvA Help Center.

1. How AvA works

Each Operation lasts six weeks and contains eight Offensives. An Offensive has a 12-hour Mobilisation phase for defense setup, a 24-hour Engagement phase for attacks, and scoring based on territory control.

Each Domain has 11 Fronts with different rarity limits. Strong lower-star teams therefore have genuine strategic value alongside high-end rosters.

2. Morale: spend it with purpose

Each player holds up to three Morale. Attacks cost one Morale, and one regenerates every 12 hours. Sitting at the cap wastes potential regeneration, but spending attacks randomly can waste valuable offensive opportunities. Agree on priority targets first.

3. Build a defense that costs opponents attacks

During Mobilisation, assign up to nine defenders per Objective where your roster allows. Defenders can also be used to attack later. Defensive damage persists during Engagement, so durable teams can force multiple enemy attacks. A good defense should be difficult to clear, not just impressive on paper.

4. Coordinate attacks

Target Objectives your alliance can actually capture. Finish defenses that other players have already weakened, and avoid scattering attacks across too many fronts. Share progress in guild chat so members know where the next Morale will matter most.

5. Participation matters

The alliance needs at least 20 qualifying actions—including deploying defenders and making attacks—to qualify for points and ranking eligibility. Players at every rarity level can contribute. A full guild effort beats a few players carrying the entire operation.

6. Rewards and territory

Controlling Fronts can provide favorite-character shards: 20 for 3★, 15 for 4★, 10 for 5★, and 5 for 6★ Fronts, according to the published reward table. Operation standings can award character covers, Command Points, ISO-8, and other prizes. Always check the in-game event screen for current reward conditions.

7. Our guild action plan

Before Engagement

  • Deploy eligible defenders during Mobilisation.
  • Make sure the guild reaches the participation requirement.
  • Agree on the most realistic Fronts and Objectives to contest.

During Engagement

  • Spend Morale without leaving it capped needlessly.
  • Concentrate attacks against weakened defenses.
  • Communicate when an Objective is nearly finished.

Before Scoring

  • Review Fronts that can still be secured.
  • Prioritize attacks with a realistic chance of changing control.
  • Avoid scattering remaining Morale across impossible targets.

Bottom line

AvA is an alliance coordination game. Defend early, communicate clearly, attack with a plan, and make every member's roster count.
