Team Jellie Trip Packing Checklist

Trip Packing Checklist for Train Trips, E-Bikes, and Mildly Overconfident Travel Plans

A reusable copy-and-check packing list for train rides, e-bike exploring, weekend getaways, content-creator chaos, and those dangerous little moments when someone says, “I’m sure we packed the charger.”

How to use this list: Start at the top, check as you pack, and reuse it for future trips. It works for Amtrak travel, road trips, hotel stays, Airbnb stays, e-bike adventures, and “we are absolutely not winging it” adventures that are, in fact, still being partially winged.
Best for Train travel, e-bikes, city exploring, and weekend escapes.
Main goal Fewer forgotten chargers. Fewer emergency sock purchases.
Team Jellie rule Pack the boring stuff first. That is usually what saves the trip.

St. Louis Trip Timing

This version is customized for our Battle Creek to Chicago to St. Louis train day. Future us may forget why we made this list. Current us knows exactly why: logistics.

Battle Creek → Chicago Depart: 10:00 AM
Arrive: 12:45 PM
Plan: arrive at the station early.
Chicago → St. Louis Depart: 2:10 PM
Arrive: 7:25 PM
Plan: stay close during the transfer.
  • Be at Battle Creek station by 9:15 AM
  • Train departs Battle Creek at 10:00 AM
  • Chicago transfer: bathroom, food, water, platform check
  • Arrive St. Louis around 7:25 PM

Content Creator Kit

Because a trip is still a trip, but if we get three good Shorts, one blog post, and a thumbnail that doesn’t look like it was designed during a train transfer, that is called operational excellence.

Home Before Leaving

The house checklist is not glamorous. It is also the reason you can sit on the train without wondering whether the oven has chosen violence.

  • Take out trash
  • Run dishwasher
  • Clear fridge items that may spoil
  • Lock windows
  • Lock doors
  • Set thermostat
  • Check stove / oven
  • Unplug unnecessary items
  • Water plants if needed
  • Mail / package plan set
  • Pet care handled if needed
  • Lights set
  • Bags staged by door
  • Final house walkthrough done

Final Morning Checklist

  • Phones charged
  • Battery banks charged
  • Wallets packed
  • IDs packed

  • Tickets screenshotted
  • Meds packed
  • Glasses packed
  • Water bottles filled
  • Snacks packed
  • E-bike keys packed
  • Bike chargers packed
  • House locked
  • Leave early
Team Jellie Rule: If we forget socks, we buy socks. If we forget e-bike keys, the adventure becomes a very expensive walking documentary.
