How We Built a Tight 15-Second Intro From a Full Track (Plus Suno Settings)
How We Built a Tight 15-Second Intro From a Full Track (Plus Suno Settings)
Project log: turning a client’s favorite song into a consistent, brandable 15-second opener for every video.
The Brief
- Goal: deliver a polished 15-second intro that feels like the client’s track.
- Constraint: only search for the “sweet spot” after 1:00 in the song.
- Deliverables: Clean, Logo-Hit, VO-Bed, and Loopable versions in WAV (48 kHz/24-bit) and MP3 (320 kbps).
Step 1 — Find the “Sweet 15” (after 1:00)
We ran a sliding-window scan (15,000 ms window, 250 ms hop) starting at 1:00 to rank segments by energy and clarity. The winning region landed at 3:34.25 → 3:49.25. That slice had the best combination of groove, hook visibility, and stable downbeats—perfect for a repeatable opener.
Fade-in/out: 25 ms Ceiling: −1 dBTP Target Loudness: ≈ −16 LUFS (VO version lower)
Step 2 — Build Four Client-Ready Versions
1) Clean
Unobtrusive 15 s bed with micro fades and peak normalization. Ideal when the video starts cold or you want the music to carry the open.
2) Logo-Hit (12 s build → hit → 3 s tail)
A subtle riser leads into a confident impact around 12.0 s; the tail rings out to 15.0 s for logo reveal or bumper animation.
- Hit timing: 12.0 s (easy to shift to 10.0 s if your animation needs it).
- FX: short tom/boom + airy noise click—tasty but tasteful.
3) VO-Bed
Dialogue-friendly bed with a gentle 2–4 kHz notch and a few dB of headroom. Plays nice under voiceovers and on mobile speakers.
4) Loopable
Seamless loop using a boundary crossfade (~40 ms). Useful for live segments, long logo builds, or sponsor reads—repeat indefinitely without clicks.
Step 3 — Name, Specs, and Handoff
Clear file names help your editor grab the right version every time:
client-intro_15s_clean.wav
/.mp3
client-intro_15s_logo-hit.wav
/.mp3
client-intro_15s_vo-bed.wav
/.mp3
client-intro_15s_loopable.wav
/.mp3
Mastering notes: Clean & Logo-Hit around −16 LUFS integrated; VO-Bed ~2–3 dB quieter; ceiling −1 dBTP. Export WAV 48 kHz/24-bit as the master; MP3 320 kbps for quick approvals.
Optional — Suno Settings to Create Matching Variations
If you want fresh versions that still “feel like” the original, these Suno settings work great with a strong female vocal and our racing-theme lyrics (“Greenlight Fever”).
Preset: Pop-Rock × Neon Synthwave (Main Pick)
Styles: pop rock, synthwave, anthemic, driving beat, fast tempo, female power vocal, analog bass, overdriven guitar, arpeggiated synths, cinematic, big toms, wide stereo
Exclude styles: jazz, funk, reggae, trap, boom bap, lo-fi, acoustic ballad, chiptune, dubstep, metal, punk
- Vocal Gender: Female
- Weirdness: 35% (commercial but not bland)
- Style Influence: 60%
- Audio Influence: 35% with a 10–30 s reference clip; 10% without
15-Second Intro Prompt Add-On
Paste with your lyrics: “Purpose: 15-second video intro ident. Arc: [0–3 s] airy ramp → [3–12 s] main groove → [12–15 s] logo hit + tail. Vocal: strong female one-liner hook only (or ‘Instrumental’). No profanity.”
Editor Tips (Premiere Pro)
- Sequence at 48 kHz. Place the 15 s bed; use Exponential Fade 10–30 ms on both ends.
- Markers at 3.0 s (drop), 12.0 s (logo hit) if using the Logo-Hit version.
- Essential Sound → Music → Ducking against Dialogue for VO-Bed (sensitivity −6 dB, fast fades).
Client Review Checklist
- Does the 15 s feel on-brand with the main track?
- Is the logo hit aligned with your animation timing?
- Does VO-Bed keep the voice clear on phone speakers?
- Do you need a 30 s or 60 s cut for trailers? (We can scale from the same groove.)
What’s Next
- Create Persona in Suno so all future idents share the same “artist DNA.”
- Render alt genres (D&B / Country-Rock) for sponsor-specific cuts.
- Package stems (drums / tonal / FX) to future-proof edits.
