What if you could decide which version of a song made it onto an album—not just as a listener, but as a true co-producer? Welcome to the Deep Dive A/B Tracklist Test: a 16-day experiment where we’re building an entire blues album, one vote at a time.

This isn’t a gimmick. It’s an intentional fusion of fan-powered curation, old-school blues ethos, and modern digital engagement. By casting a simple like on YouTube, you help decide the order of the tracks that will make up our next full-length release: “Dust & Devil Wind – Ghost Blues for the AI Age.”

Here’s How the Voting Works

Each day for 16 days, we release two versions of a new instrumental blues track: SIDE A and SIDE B. The core song remains the same, but the mix, intro, arrangement, or vibe will differ. Maybe SIDE A has a slow, haunting slide intro, while SIDE B drives forward with tremolo and piano. You get to decide which resonates more.

  • Step 1: Watch/listen to both versions on YouTube.
  • Step 2: LIKE the video you feel hits harder emotionally, sonically, or spiritually.
  • Step 3: The version with the most likes gets placed into that day’s track slot on the final album lineup.

This is not about algorithms or behind-the-scenes marketing teams. This is about you—our listeners—choosing which version carries the emotional weight to live on forever.

Why the Track Order Matters

Albums aren’t just playlists—they tell a story. The order of songs sets the tone, builds emotional arcs, and determines how the listener experiences the journey. By crowdsourcing which versions lead or follow, we’re co-writing not just the content of the album, but the rhythm of its soul.

Think of SIDE A vs. SIDE B like two different moods or scenes in a film. Maybe one is gritty and raw, the other is smooth and cinematic. Both are valid. But only one can be Track 4. That’s where you come in.

Your Votes Are Binding

Every vote is public, transparent, and final. Once the votes are tallied for each day, we announce the winner and lock that version into its track position. When Day 16 ends, the full album will be assembled exactly as the fans voted.

We’ll publish the results as we go on:

  • Our official blog (you’re reading it!)
  • Spotify episode updates
  • YouTube community polls and Shorts
  • Facebook and TikTok daily recaps

Music is a Conversation, Not a Broadcast

The blues is a participatory art form—built on back-and-forth, call-and-response, improvisation, and shared feeling. It’s never been a passive genre. That’s why letting the audience shape the record isn’t just a marketing hook—it’s staying true to the form.

In the AI age, where production is instant and options are infinite, this test grounds us. Instead of being overwhelmed by choice, we’re anchoring each creative step in human reaction—your reactions.

What’s Already Happened?

Day 1: “Dust & Devil Wind”

Day 2: “Crossroads Echo”

Each day reveals something new—stylistically and emotionally. Some days may be about subtle nuance. Others might feel like choosing between fire and ice.
